A good survey of the history of the British Colonial Empire. What struck me was the sheer size of the empire and number of colonies. There was something special about how the British administered very foreign environments like India whilst affirming the locals' sovereignty. Especially liked the description of "DCs" (District Commanders") operational model. Probably lacks the style of the great literary classics but a good starting point nevertheless.
